Gum Branch Hunting Club Rules and Regulations
The following rules are the product of the Board and owners of Gum Branch Hunting Club. This list contains the main rules governing the club. However they are not all inclusive and common sense must be used in many cases. Remember we all want to have a safe, successful hunting season. Be courteous to others as you would expect them to be to you.
These rules can and may be modified by the board if circumstances dictate it.
1. Guest fees are $20 per part/full day to hunt Gum Branch leases or land that is accessed through our leases.
2. A guest is required to sign in when they arrive. Payments must be made prior to leaving the camp. Members are held responsible for all guest fees and making sure the guest(s) sign a release form prior to hunting. Guest(s) may stay at our camp and hunt other land not belonging to the camp but they will be required to pay $10.00 per night.
3. All members are required to sign a release form. A release form is required to be filed only once, and is good from year to year.
4. Guest(s) may stay in the bunk house but if it fills, the members have first rights.
5. You may store harvested deer in the cooler in the skinning shed for seven days only. If you remove your deer and it is the last one the cooler doors should be left open and the cooler un-plugged. All deer must be tagged while on club property. All harvested deer will be logged in the log book. (Please fill out as much of the log as you can.)
6. If you cook or mess up the dinning hall or bunk house you are responsible for your own clean up. “Pick up your own trash”.
7. Do not leave trash in the shooting houses; if you take it out there bring it back.
8. The camp houses will only be open for use between August 1st and January 31st. If you want to use the facilities during the off season there will be a $10.00 per night charge, i.e. turkey season. Understand that the Dues are at the low price they are only as long as we can pay the bills. When you leave camp make sure everything is off to keep the cost down.
9. All Club dues are to be paid in full by July 1st of each year. Our leases are due in August so if you have not paid in full you could lose your spot.
10. The ice machine is for all to use so do not empty it for your ice chest. Bags of ice are available in the kitchen freezer for your ice chest.
11. You must make at least 4 days per year for work days. This is the only way we can manage all we have to do. If you cannot make the work days you must pay $50.00 per day for the days missed up to $200.00. All dues and fines must be paid before you are allowed to hunt. If it is cost affective for you to pay rather than come for work weekends that is fine.
12. If you have your own camper connected to the Camp utilities you must pay an additional $100.00 per year for utilities. You can however have your own electric pole, sewage, and water without having to pay the additional yearly fee to the camp.
13. Every hunter killing an illegal deer will be fined $25.00. The fine will double with each occurrence due the day the infraction takes place. No further hunting until the fine is paid.
14. Any physical confrontation will expel you from the camp. (No exceptions).
15. Drinking is allowed but in moderation. No drunks and if you have a drink your hunting for that day is done.
16. Do not drive your vehicles beyond the parking spots at each piece of leased property. If you trash leased land by rutting the roads from driving a vehicle other than an ATV you will be charge for the repair.
17. When you skin a deer you are responsible for taking the remains to the Gut pit within 24 hours. The rules of the Gut pit are posted in the skinning shed.
18. All hunters are required to tag out when they go hunting
and tag in when they return. We have to know that you are safe and have
returned. In addition this helps to keep others from coming in on you. No
tagging a hunting spot before
19. Do not park your vehicles in a manner that blocks the
road or the ability to circle the camp ground. All trailers should be parked
out of the parking areas when they are un-hooked.
